This is a knapweed growing along the shores of Lake Huron. It looks like a brown knapweed, and not an American knapweed.

The farm at Staffa Road and Parr Line (south of Varna, Ontario) owned in the 1860s by my Grandpa Vic's great-grandfather William Turner.
Some of William Turner's relatives in the Bayfield Cemetery. I think this was a brother, sister-in-law, and a nephew who died when just a small baby. My Grandfather's great-grandparents are supposedly buried near these graves, but we couldn't find their markers.
The Bayfield Cemetery, located east of town, off of Mill Road.

The Clinton Library in Clinton, Ontario. We spent a couple hours looking through historical records here to learn more about our ancestors.
This is a plot of land (actually two plots) in the village of Varna, Ontario owned by my grandfather's great-grandfather William Turner. His buildings no longer stand, and now the property has a memorial to soldiers and a town sign.
