| Here I am as a 14-year-old high school freshman living in a rented house in Creve Coeur, Missouri with my mom and sister. My hair was unkempt, but that's the way I liked it and still like it. | My mom remarried in late 1983, and so our family was much larger (a new step-father and two step-sisters and three step-brothers). Here I am on a spring break trip with my family to Washington State. | Here I am at my high school graduation in June of 1986. The larger image shows my friend Julie Mell. I typically cut my own hair or else had my friend Lori Karl cut it for me. |

| This is what I looked like as a freshman in college at Redlands. I'm working at my desk in Bekins Hall. That's a Macintosh Plus there as my computer. This was in 1986. | Facial hair and lots of make-up to make my skin look reddish. I am rather pale, so I liked to make myself look a bit darker. The electric blue hair was not a usual hair color for me. | I did like to use black around my eyes on weekends when I went to parties. I remember at this party in 1985 I had my hair colored black. I should do that again some day. |

My girlfriend at the time, Zhuoying Yang took this photo. | This is what I looked like for a while as a sophomore in college. Having half my head shaved and the other half long was too strange, even for me, so I shaved my whole head pretty soon after this. |
